As Germany commemorates the liberation of the camps this year, survivors of the Holocaust are more worried than ever.
After scoring its best results in the east of the country in regional elections in September 2024, the far-right AFD party is now polling around 20 percent ahead of Germany’s snap general election, due on February 23.
There has also been a rise in anti-Semitic attacks on the Jewish community since the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict began in October 2023.
