Three years after opening their borders to hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian refugees, Poles are becoming rather less welcoming. With a presidential election coming up, candidates have been surfing on anti-Ukrainian sentiment, suggesting that they are a burden on the Polish economy. But employers and economists say they’ve actually been a driver of growth. Adrien Sarlat sent this report from the southwestern industrial region of Lower Silesia, translated by Gulliver Cragg.
