Israel launched a new attack on the historic port city of Tyre, in southern Lebanon, on Monday, after issuing new evacuation orders. Residents of Shmustar, in eastern Lebanon, tried to understand why their city, where Israeli strikes killed at least one person, was targeted: “there’s no militant presence,” said one resident, “[the] Israeli gangs would not be able to do this if it wasn’t for American support and the silence of the Arab-Islamic states that are providing cover for this.”
