In Uganda, Sudanese refugee women are fighting to raise a feminist voice on the war and rebuild their lives. The “Guardians” association was born in Sudan and regrouped in Kampala. These merchants and intellectuals are carrying on.. a long tradition of mutual aid among Sudanese women from abroad, while engaging in their country’s politics. Clément Di Roma went to meet them.

Also, in Ghana, president-elect John Mahama is getting ready to take office in a few weeks. He  will be under pressure to meet the expectations of voters, following his landslide victory in Saturday’s election. On his agenda, solving the economic crisis, as well as tackling the issue of illegal gold mining. Ghana is the leading gold producer in Africa. But now, the environmental damage that its exploitation causes has become a key concern.

Finally, in Senegal, it’s an unprecedented decision. The suspension of peanuts export. This sector is one of the country’s main export crops. As Africa’s third-largest producer, the government now wants to increase production and processing at home.  This policy is also aimed at countering China, the main buyer of Senegalese groundnuts.
