Back in Paris after reporting from northern Syria following the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s regime nearly two weeks ago, FRANCE 24’s Andrew Hilliar recounts the scenes of celebration he witnessed in the streets of Aleppo, Syria’s second largest city. Entire families, former inmates and rebel fighters were “riding this wave of euphoria” as they celebrate the end of “decades of regime repression”, Hilliar said.
